“Sing a Song For Sixpence!”
We have a number of children at Thomas Wolsey who take part in dual placements, and have significant learning needs. These pupils respond well to toys which move, make sound and are activated by a switch. Teachers can use these rewards to encourage pupils to complete a learning goal. These items are very expensive and it is difficult to provide more than one toy per term.
We are hoping to set up a switch toy library in which we hold lots of switch adapted toys which can be loaned to schools and families on dual placements.
Thomas Wolsey primary school would like mainstream primary schools to join them in a “Singathon” to raise money for this important initiative.
We are asking primary aged children to meet for half an hour in the week beginning June the 15th and sing for half and hour. A list of familiar songs will be provided along with a sponsor form for pupils to take home. The form will detail why we are hoping to raise money and why it is so important. If you think your class could take part, please complete the “singathon” form and return to Thomas Wolsey outreach team by Monday June 1st.
UPDATE - 15th July - The grand total raised so far is £535.
A big thankyou must go to Combs Middle School who raised a total of £450!!
